INT. HOUSE – NIGHT

Hamnah is studying and she looks dedicated, she is studying
under a candle light because her family can’t afford
electricity. We hear the sound of a door opening and we see
her father entering the house. He is talking on the phone
with the land lord.

AMJAD
Jee sir, Bilkul sir, jee de doon
ga apko mai sir paise, nahi sir
late nahi karunga do din ka waqt
deejiye.

Hamnah Looks at her and greats her.

Hamnah
Asalam Alayekum Abbu!

AMJAD
(cuts the phone)
Wa’Alayekum Asalam Hamnah beti,
kesi ho?

Hamnah
Theek,

AMJAD
Kiya kar rahi ho? parh rahi ho?

Hamnah
jee Abbu.

Her mother comes and starts to scream at Amjad

KHURSHEED
(moody)
Agaye?

AMJAD
(Tired)
Haan.

KHURSHEED
De do na usko paisey.

AMJAD
Kahan sey laa kar doon?

KHURSHEED
Wo jo paise ham ne bacha ke rakhey
hain

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED:

AMJAD
Tumhe pata hai wo maine Hamnah ke
fees ke liye bacha kar rakhe hain

KHURSHEED
(Annoyed)
Hamnah ki fees, Hamnah ki fees jab
dekho. Paise jaa kar maalik ko de
ke aao tumhaari beti ki waise bhi
shaadi karwa doon gi mai kuch
saalon me, kia faida iski taleem
ka?

AMJAD
(Screams)
Koi shaadi nahi hone waali iski.
He walks towards his room, Room and slams the door

AMJAD (O.S)
Tumhaari bhi beti hai Hamnah!

DISSOLVE.

INT. HOUSE – MORNING
Amjad Wakes up, he wakes up and gets ready,
Sits on a cycle (JUMPCUTS) He goes to his shop,
Opens the shutter and cleans the dust away from his cloth.
As he opens the shop, we see the Land lord coming.

LAND LORD
(Sarcastic)
Haan abay Amjad bhai? Kia haal
hain apkey?

AMJAD
(Stuttering)
Amm. jee.. jee.. theek.. aap kaise
hain?

LAND LORD
Pata to hoga apko ke mai kyun aya
hoon?

AMJAD
dekho mai apko
Apke saarey paise de doon ga..

LAND LORD
(sighs)
Zara apney ghar pe call lagana

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED:

AMJAD
Kiya?

LAND LORD
Lagao to zara

Amjad is confused since he doesn’t know what to do, Amjad
slowly takes his phone out and the land lord snatches it.

LAND LORD
Aray idhar laaao

Dials a number and gives the phone back to amjad

LAND LORD
Ye lo, baat karo apni Bivi sey

Keeps the phone on his ear

KHURSHEED
Amjad.. Amjad… Kahan ho..

Hamnah
(interrupts)
ABBU!!

AMJAD
(Screams)
Kiya hua?

A voice of gunshot could be heard. Amjad listens to it and
his face is full of sorrow and he starts to cry
